Last updated: 3 March 2026. These terms govern the services provided by Ace Furniture Repair.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the provision of furniture repair and restoration services by Ace Furniture Repair ("we", "us", "our"), a sole trader business operating from 48 Leicester Rd, Wigston, Leicestershire LE18 1DR, United Kingdom. By engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.
All quotations are provided in writing and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless stated otherwise. A quotation does not constitute a binding contract until you confirm acceptance in writing (including by email) and we confirm receipt.
Quotations are based on the information available at the time of assessment. If, during the course of the repair work, we discover additional damage or problems not apparent at assessment, we will notify you promptly and provide a revised quotation before proceeding with any additional work. We will not carry out work beyond the scope of the agreed quotation without your explicit consent.
A contract for services is formed when you confirm acceptance of a quotation in writing and we confirm receipt. We may decline to accept an instruction at our discretion.
You are responsible for ensuring that any furniture brought to or collected by us is genuinely owned by you or that you have authority to commission repair work on it. You must provide accurate information about the piece, its history, and any previous repairs or treatments of which you are aware, as this information may affect the repair approach and outcome.
We will provide an estimated completion timescale at the point of agreement. These estimates are given in good faith but are not guaranteed. We will notify you if we expect a significant delay beyond the estimated timescale. We accept no liability for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including delays in sourcing materials.
You are responsible for arranging collection of completed pieces from our workshop within 14 days of being notified that work is complete. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you. After 30 days, we reserve the right to charge a storage fee for uncollected items. After 90 days of being unreachable, we may exercise a lien over uncollected items to recover outstanding costs.
Payment is due in full upon collection of the completed piece, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing. We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, or such other methods as we may confirm at the time. Where the agreed cost exceeds £500, we may request a deposit of up to 30% upon agreement, which is non-refundable if you cancel after work has commenced.
We take reasonable care when handling all furniture entrusted to us. In the unlikely event that damage occurs to a piece while in our care, our liability is limited to the reasonable cost of repairing such damage. We do not accept liability for pre-existing weaknesses or defects in a piece that were not apparent at the time of assessment.
We do not accept liability for loss of use, consequential loss, or any indirect losses arising from delays or any other aspect of our service.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other matter where limitation of liability is prohibited by law.
We will carry out repair work to a professional standard using appropriate materials and techniques. However, the outcome of any repair is subject to the condition and quality of the original piece. We cannot guarantee that all damage can be made entirely invisible, particularly where the original materials are no longer available or where damage has been present for a long time. We will always advise you honestly at the assessment stage about what is realistically achievable.
We may photograph pieces before, during, and after repair for our own records and, where appropriate, for use in illustrating our services. We will not include any identifiable personal information in photographs used publicly. If you would prefer that photographs of your piece are not used publicly, please inform us at the time of bringing the piece to our workshop.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer (an individual not acting in the course of a business), your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable legislation are not affected by these Terms. These Terms do not attempt to exclude or limit any rights you have under applicable consumer protection legislation.
